kids on trikes

Christina Kasler requested funding for heavy-duty bikes and trikes to help her TK (Transitional Kindergarten) students learn to ride and develop their balance and motor skills. She wrote, “You brought so much joy to our TK students with these bikes, they were lining up and waiting like a Disney ride. Friends were communicating about who was going to drive and who was going to ride. These bikes will be enjoyed by our students for many, many years to come!”

kids looking up at drone

In Danielle Bertrand’s 11th–12th grade Environmental Science class at Winters High School, students learned to use drones to collect scientific data. Ms. Bertrand reports, “The project brought cutting-edge technology into the hands of students and connected them directly with real-world environmental science. Students first learned to operate the drones in a controlled setting on the Winters High School campus. Once they demonstrated proficiency, they began visiting Putah Creek to collect baseline data. This process gave students hands-on experience with data collection, field research, and responsible technology use. It also helped build skills in collaboration, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry in a way that felt meaningful and empowering.”
